How a Bra Should Fit – Tips and Tricks You Need to Know Now

Ladies, I know how hard it is to stay with an ill-fitted bra. Nothing makes your day worse than an ill-fitted bra. I know, finding the perfect bra is really frustrating and challenging, but it is DEFINITELY NOT impossible. Choosing the right bra is very important if you want to be comfortable and slay your outfit.

Follow this blog to know more information.

Are you comfortable with your bra?

That feeling when you take off your bra as soon as you get home. I know, what a relief! But what’s the issue here? What’s bugging you? Is it the hook-and-eye closure in the back? Is it scratchy? Do you feel that the underwire of your cup is digging in? Where is that wire digging in? Middle or sides? Is it leaving you red marks? Are your straps falling down and making you look awkward?

To avoid all these situations there’s one solution. Measure yourself properly before buying a bra. But how to do this?

Step1: Measure Your Band Size:

To measure band size first take a measuring tape and measure around your torso directly under your bust, where a bra band would properly sit. The tape should be very snug and level. Round to the nearest whole number. If the number is even, add four inches and if it is an ODD number (31, 35, etc.) add 5 to your number and write this down.

Step 2: Take your bust measurement

Wrap the measuring tape a bit loosely around the fullest part of your chest (nearly at the nipple level). And round to the nearest whole number.

Step 3: Now measure your cup size:

All you have to do is to subtract your band size from your bust size and this difference is your cup size.

How to make sure the right size of bra?

  1. Stand straight and now bend forward at the waist, put on the bra and hook it. This ensures your breasts are filled in the cups.
  2. Next, make sure about the band size. Band size is perfect if only the back of the bra is level with the front of the bra.
  3. The bra should not be too loose. Only one finger should slide underneath the band. If it’s more than one it’s definitely loose and you should go a size down.
  4. Check out the straps. Tighten the band first, then shorten the straps according to your convenience.
  5. Put on a tight-fitted t-shirt over the bra. If the cups pucker or your breasts bulge, you are wearing the wrong bra size. Make sure the cups fit perfectly and give a clean look without any bulges.

Bras for different kinds of breasts

If you have fuller breasts:

Choose a T-shirt bra that has stiff cups rather than a minimizer bra, this can make you look heavier. If it’s not, then the bra you chose is wrong.

If you’re a plus size:

Are you team plus size? Sweetie don’t worry we have a solution for you too. Rely on bras that have a wider band. This gives you a smooth and sleek appearance and provides you maximum support. Nowadays most of a bra’s support comes from the band (not the straps) so as long as you have a strong band you are safe.

If you have uneven busts:

If you have uneven busts, go for a T-shirt bra that has removable padding. Trust me this helps a lot. Take out the padding insert on the fuller side to even out the sizes. Shortening the strap on the smaller side also helps to avoid this kind of problem.

If you have saggy breasts:

Try full-coverage cups that naturally give you a perky lift. But if the bra rides up then the solution for this is to go down a band size till the bra is level. Another technique to avoid saggy cleavage is to go with the push-up bra section and look for styles that provide the most coverage.

If you simply have an average figure:

If you have an average figure go with a normal molded bra, even if you don’t want to increase your bust size. Go for cups that are made up of foam or sponge that provide shaping and opacity without adding extra bulk.

Hope these tips and tricks will help you to find your right bra. A proper bra is a basic foundation if you want you and your outfit to look good. So make sure you follow these tips before buying a bra.
