Important Details To Look For In A Wedding Venue

There is more to a wedding than just pleasing aesthetics. When deciding on your choice of wedding venue, there are many things to consider and watch out for.

Great event venues in Utah will have many options to offer; some spaces may even provide catering and bartending services! But there is more than just catering to consider when deciding on the perfect venue for your special day.

Wedding Photo Spaces

Your wedding photos will remind you of the day the rest of your life began. Some partners will want retro-style pictures, while other couples will prefer classic or modern photos. Not only do these pictures capture the day, but they also capture the mood, style, and individuality of the couple.

Family members are equally as important as the bride and groom. Typically, weddings are one of the few times a family is gathered in one place. Be sure to get pictures of grandparents, aunts and uncles, and your cousins.

When looking at venues, try visualizing how your pictures will turn out. Is there enough space to take a group photo? Will the photographer be able to capture candid moments?

You want your perfect day to be documented as thoroughly as possible. Keep your eye out for great spots for photos to be taken.

Lighting

The presence – or absence – of lighting can play a massive role in the mood and atmosphere of your wedding. The correct lighting will focus your guests and create intimacy.

You want the attention of your guests on you during the ceremony. If the lighting on the rest of the venue is too bright, your guests (and even yourself) can become distracted. So to ensure that all eyes are on you, the aisle and altar should be appropriately lit, and dim the rest of the space if possible.

Now that we know the importance of brightly lit spaces, low lighting is equally as important. You can achieve soft lighting by using candles, fairy lights, or dimmed overhead bulbs, creating an intimate setting for wedding ceremonies, and a bright light on the bride and groom will put them in the spotlight.

Hours Of Availability

Some venues will charge by the hour or for the whole day. Some venues may even charge you for half of the day!

Knowing how many hours your venue will be available to you is essential. Look into how these spaces charge. For example, a venue may charge a low fee for use during daylight hours and double their prices when the sun sets!

It might be better for you to rent the space for the entire day and save costs. On your wedding day, ensure that you have exclusive usage of the location. There’s nothing worse than competing with another couple for the perfect photo opp or running out of parking spots.

Choosing the right venue is, of course, a significant decision. It will set the tone for the rest of the event. There’s a lot to think about, so take your time and do your research.
